1. Your training journal
ROLL stores the information you enter in its journal on your iPhone: your athlete profile, first name and username, belt and experience, training goals, favorite submission, session dates and duration, submissions landed and received, ratings, reflections, technique notes and reference links, and completed home practices. Older journals may also retain saved or watched tutorial IDs as local backup data.
This information powers your journal, statistics, training rank, practice history, and recommendations. Each signed-in account and guest mode has a separate local journal. Signing in on another phone does not sync your training logs. ROLL does not upload your journal to a training database.
Your device’s Apple backups may include this data according to your backup settings. Exporting or sharing a backup creates a separate copy that you control. Anyone who receives that file can read it.
2. Accounts and sign-in
You can continue without an account to use a local journal. If you create an account, ROLL uses Google Firebase Authentication to create, verify, secure, and manage it.
Account information includes your email, chosen first name or provider-supplied name, user identifier, sign-in provider, and authentication information. For email sign-in, Firebase processes your password. For Google or Apple sign-in, the selected provider handles its sign-in flow and supplies the identity information and tokens needed to authenticate you. Apple may provide a private relay email if you choose that option.
Firebase and Google sign-in services also process technical and security information. Depending on the service and sign-in flow, this can include IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them, account and device identifiers, device/OS/app information, diagnostics, and service usage information. They use this for authentication, security, fraud prevention, and service analytics. A sign-in provider may process phone/contact information used with its account. Firebase’s SDK manages the signed-in session. Passwords and sign-in tokens are not included in your training journal or exported backup.
3. Coaching and reminders
ROLL uses recent logs and your selected focus to recommend built-in drills, lessons, and coaching cues. This processing happens on your phone. If you enable optional AI personalization on a supported device, Apple’s on-device system model can select an existing topic and cue using a limited summary of your training and your question. ROLL does not send those logs or questions to a cloud AI service.
Turn off On-device AI personalization in Profile to stop using the optional model. The built-in recommendations remain available.
Training reminders are optional local notifications scheduled by iOS on your phone. You can disable them in Profile or iPhone notification settings. The reminder does not contain your account details or training history.
4. Subscriptions
Apple handles subscription purchases, billing, and payment information. ROLL uses StoreKit to check verified transactions and subscription entitlement so it can unlock your membership. ROLL does not receive your full payment card number.
Manage or cancel your subscription through Profile → Manage membership or Apple’s subscription settings. Deleting your app, account, or journal does not cancel your Apple subscription.
5. Illustrated guides and external links
ROLL’s illustrated drills and dummy lessons are bundled in the app and work offline. Version 1.0 build 16 and later remove the online video tutorial catalogue and embedded player. Those versions do not load a YouTube player inside ROLL.
Optional instructor guides and links you save in My Game open in your browser or the destination app only when you choose to open them. The destination may receive connection and activity information under its own privacy policy and settings. ROLL does not send your training journal to these websites.
Earlier test builds: builds before 16 included an embedded YouTube player using youtube-nocookie.com and a nonpersistent web session. Playing those tutorials could send IP, device/browser and playback information to YouTube under Google’s privacy policy. Update to the newer build to remove that player.
6. Support messages and this website
If you email alexveldhuyzenbusiness@gmail.com, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, troubleshoot problems, and handle account or privacy requests. Our support inbox is hosted by Google’s Gmail service.
This website has no added advertising or analytics scripts and no contact form. It is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Hosting providers may process connection and request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page, and time of access, to deliver and protect the website.
8. Your choices and deletion
- Access and export: view your journal in the app. Use Profile → Export training backup → Share backup to save a copy.
- Correct information: edit your athlete profile, session logs, or technique notes in the app. Contact us for help with account information.
- Delete your journal: Profile → Delete my training data clears the current journal while keeping your sign-in account.
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete my account asks you to confirm your identity, then deletes your Firebase account and its journal on this phone. Apple sign-in access is revoked as part of deleting an Apple-linked account.
- Control optional features: turn off reminders or AI personalization in Profile. You can use guest mode and offline guides without choosing account sign-in or opening external references.
Signing out keeps your journal on that phone. Account deletion does not remove guest data, another account’s journal, copies on other devices, or previously exported backups. Manage those copies separately. If the app reports a local deletion error, contact support for help. Your Apple subscription must be canceled separately.
For account access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, email us below. We may ask for enough information to verify that a request concerns your account. We cannot retrieve a journal that exists only on your phone.
9. How long information is kept
Local journals: remain on your phone until you delete the data or remove the app. Backups and exported copies remain wherever you saved them until you remove those copies.
Account data: is retained while your account exists. Firebase states that logged IP addresses are kept for a few weeks; after account deletion is initiated, other authentication data is removed from its live and backup systems within 180 days. See its linked privacy information for details.
Support messages: are retained for as long as needed to resolve your request and related account, security, or legal matters. You can ask us to delete support correspondence. Some information may need to be retained to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.
Provider records: Apple’s transaction records, hosting logs, and information handled independently by other providers follow their retention policies. Deleting a ROLL account does not delete your Apple or Google account.
10. Children and policy updates
ROLL is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to ROLL, contact us so we can review and address it.
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The updated policy will be posted here with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated where required.
